2023-2024 Transportation Request Form Information

We are asking parents of bus riders to complete a TRANSPORTATION REQUEST FORM for the 2023-24 school year. ONLY COMPLETE THIS FORM if your student(s) HAS AN ABSOLUTE NEED for busing for the coming year. Please do not complete this form in the event your child MAY need transportation. If you do not require transportation at this time, but may in the future, it will be available.

Highland Local Schools Receives Mark of Distinction for Data Privacy Award of Distinction

The Highland Local School District is proud to announce the renewal of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) Seal. The Highland Local School District was the first district in the State of Ohio and the seventh in the nation to be awarded the seal. This is the third renewal for the district.

Terri Pfister and Marie Baker Selected 2023 Highland Pride Award Recipients

The Highland Local School District is pleased to announce that Terri Pfister and Marie Baker have been selected as the recipients of the 2023 Highland Pride Awards. They will be recognized at the Highland Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 6 p.m., in the Highland High School Media Center, with a reception to follow immediately after the meeting.

Pfister and Baker were chosen by an ad hoc committee of The Highland Local School District staff and community members who were tasked with evaluating community-submitted nominations and identifying extraordinary individuals whose work within and for the district exemplifies a true spirit of Highland Pride.

“I am so incredibly grateful for the contributions of both Terri and Marie and the positive impact they have had across our school district and the entire Highland community. Through their countless hours of volunteer work, service, and commitment to our students and district, they are true examples of Highland Pride, and this recognition is well-deserved,” stated Catherine Aukerman, Superintendent.

Highland Local School District Awarded Half-Million-Dollar Safety Grant from State of Ohio

On Thursday, February 2, 2023, Governor Mike DeWine announced the distribution of $68 million in local grants to improve safety at 945 schools throughout the state through the State of Ohio’s K-12 School Safety Grant Program. The Highland Local School District was awarded a $500,000 grant that will be used to enhance physical security measures in each of its five school buildings.
